CBD and Health, how are they linked?
CBD seems to relieve pain and mental disorders...
2900 BC: this date probably means nothing to you. Yet, it was around this time that the first traces of cannabis use to relieve pain date back. It is therefore not surprising that this subject fascinates and monopolizes the minds of the scientific community. Today, it is widely accepted that molecules present in cannabis, including CBD, are considered responsible for its pain-relieving effects.
Research has also led to the discovery that our body hosts a uniquely functioning system known as the endocannabinoid system. This system appears to be involved in regulating a variety of functions including appetite, pain sensation, sleep, and immune system response.
Endocannabinoids are produced by the human body and act as neurotransmitters that position themselves at the cannabinoid receptors, which are located at the heart of our nervous system.
It is precisely at this point that the phenomenon occurs: some studies claim that CBD could contribute to relieving chronic pain... by disrupting the activity of endocannabinoid receptors that interact with neurotransmitters. Consequently, the inflammation causing pain would be reduced.
In fact, it seems that it is the combination of the simultaneous use of CBD and THC that would be effective in relieving certain categories of pain associated with specific pathologies. This includes fibromyalgia and  multiple sclerosis. Caution, however, as it will take time for researchers in the field to consolidate what is currently an intuition verified in certain aspects.
The use of CBD seems to be successful in contexts beyond just pain. This is the case for anxiety disorders and mental health, whose consequences can be destructive to overall health and well-being.
Mental disorders are usually treated with medicines from pharmaceutical research and industry. Their disadvantage is that they can cause side effects: agitation, insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, or sexual dysfunction.
Some types of medication can even create a state of dependence and thus cause a substance use disorder.
The use of CBD oil has shown promise in protocols for supporting people with certain mental disorders such as anxiety. Its practicality and natural aspect make it an attractive option in this type of situation.
CBD would have a positive effect in supporting cancer patients
Another scenario: cancer patients. CBD appears to alleviate some symptoms and side effects following cancer treatment, such as vomiting, pain, and nausea.
Caution, these are observations made following individual uses and research frameworks that are only in their infancy.
Neurological disorders are also the subject of in-depth research. Researchers hypothesize that CBD could act on the endocannabinoid system and other brain circuits.
This is precisely the area of study that attracts the most attention. We mentioned the research on the effect of CBD on multiple sclerosis earlier in this paper; we are also thinking of epilepsy. Again, research in this area is still in its early stages. Studies are promising but require more perspective.
Another example worth mentioning is Parkinson's disease. Studies have shown that the use of CBD could improve sleep quality and overall life quality in people with this condition.
Research has even highlighted the potential impact of CBD on the heart and circulatory system, taking the reduction of high blood pressure as a case study.
A study justified by the many risks associated with high blood pressure, such as strokes, metabolic syndrome, and heart attacks.
